Lisa and Jennings Hastings Donate $5000 to the Greater Dover Foundation Community Building.
On Friday, December 11, 2009; Jennings Hastings, President of the Greater Dover Foundation and Lisa Hastings, Chairman of the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce donated $5000 to the Greater Dover Foundation Community Building. The Greater Dover Foundation recently kicked off a fundraising campaign to raise $300,000. This money will go towards reducing the renovation cost of the recently opened Greater Dover Foundation Community Building at 101 West Loockerman St, Dover. Donations received will directly reduce the rent for the non-profit organizations leasing space in the building allowing them to put more money toward their missions of addressing the needs of our community.
The mission of the Greater Dover Foundation Community Building is to bring together multiple non-profit organizations under one roof while providing the financial benefit of below-market lease rates for these 501c3 organizations. In addition to the financial benefit to our tenants, this building is a symbol that will continue to remind people that charitable gifts have a direct impact on the future success of our community. Our efforts are also a giant step towards the revitalization of Downtown Dover since the non-profit organizations in the Community Building will work with thousands of Kent County citizens. There are currently two spaces available for qualified 501c3 organizations.
The Greater Dover Foundation was successful in raising grant money to cover the cost to purchase the building and assist with renovations and improvements and is now seeking the support of the community. The Greater Dover Foundation is seeking donations to cover the remaining renovation costs and to further decrease the lease rate for our tenants. Donations can be made to the Greater Dover Foundation and all donations are tax-deductible. For more information, please contact our Executive Director Shelly Cecchett at 302-570-0563
