Greater Dover Foundation Awards a $3,500 Grant to The Shepherd Place, Inc

Recently, Ed McNamara of the Greater Dover Advisory Board presented a grant $3,500 to The Shepherd Place, Inc on behalf of the Greater Dover Foundation. The Shepherd Place, Inc is creating is a new transition house for one family to live in at a time. They will have a minimum maintenance fee and a required amount to save each month. They will be responsible for utilities to teach them how to budget, pay bills and feel a sense of self worth. The family will be case managed and have a goal list that needs to be met. With an extended stay home ownership is possible. Without the Hunt's house, families will continue to bounce from shelter to shelter and stay hopeless and homeless.

The Greater Dover Foundation is a non-profit, philanthropic endeavor created in 1992 by the Greater Dover Committee to assist in identifying emerging community issues and opportunities and to provide a lasting source of charitable funding to support the efforts of non-profit organizations and public institutions in the greater Dover area.
